Iodine
Chemical element that is an essential nutrient in a healthy diet. It also has other purposes. Iodine is a mixing ingredient: at the station it adds Jennerising to whatever product you are blending, worth +42% of the base value. It costs $8 and unlocks at Hustler rank (tier 1).
Price & Unlock Rank
| Purchase price | $8 |
|---|---|
| Unlock rank | Hustler (tier 1) |
| Role | Mixing ingredient (adds 1 effect) |
| Resell value | $4 (50% of cost) |
At $8 per unit, Iodine sits in the middle of the Gas Mart shelf. The mixing math only cares about the ratio between this price and the value of the effect it carries — see the table below.
Effects It Adds
| Effect | Base-value bonus | Addictiveness | Value on OG Kush | Value on Cocaine |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jennerising | +42% | 0.343 | $50 | $213 |
One ingredient, one effect — that is the rule every mixing ingredient follows in v0.4.7. The bonus stacks additively with everything else on the product, so the real question is the price-to-bonus ratio: $8 for $14.70 of value on a $35 base, and proportionally more on expensive products.
